This course takes a practical and hands-on lookat the competencies and skills needed to accommodate and adapt instruction for allstudents, including those with disabilities and various learning needs, in aninclusive setting. We will discuss theimperative need for teachers to be able to effectively use various assessmentand evaluative tools in the classroom, in order to meet the learning needs andgoals. Emphasis is on the need forgeneral educators, special educators and families to share the goals, decisions,classroom instruction, and responsibility for all students. We will learn to identify, administer,interpret and plan instruction based on the assessment of student learning, aswell as consider problem solving, and classroom management as part of thisprocess. Prerequisite: SpEd 211 and/or permission of Area Head. Taken in conjunction with FEII/III.
